한덕수 대통령 권한대행 국무총리가 24일 "이미 현실로 닥쳐온 통상전쟁에서 우리나라 국익을 확보하는데 모든 지혜·역량을 쏟아붓겠다"고 밝혔다.
한 권한대행은 이날 오전 헌법재판소 탄핵기각 후 서울 종로구 정부서울청사에서 가진 대국민 담화에서 "남은 기간 내릴 모든 판단 기준을 대한민국 산업·미래세대 이익에 둘 것이며 전 내각이 함께 뛸 것"이라며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "지금 세계는 트럼프 미국 대통령 취임과 함께 미·중 패권경쟁이 격화되고 새로운 지정학적 대변화·경제질서 재편에 직면하고 있다"며 "대한민국이 지금의 위기 국면을 헤치고 다시 한 번 위·앞을 향해 도약할 수 있도록 여야의 초당적 협조를 간곡히 부탁드린다"고 밝혔다.
한편 한 대행은 이날 "엄중한 상황 속 국민들이 불안해하는 일이 없도록 정부가 국정 운영에 만전을 다하라"고 각 관계 부처에 안보·치안 유지·재난 관리 관련 긴급 지시를 내렸다.
한 대행은 안보 분야 관련해 국방장관 직무대행·합참의장에게 "국민생명·안보를 흔들림 없이 지킬 수 있도록 전군 경계 태세를 강화하라"고 지시했다.

존경하는 국민 여러분, 오늘 오전 헌법재판소가 내리신 결정에 따라 막 직무에 복귀하였습니다. 헌재의 현명한 판단에 감사드립니다.
국민 여러분, 직무가 정지된 88일 동안 저는 두 가지를 깊이 생각하였습니다. 우선 저는,마지막 소임을 다하기 위하여 저의 자리로 돌아왔을 때, 대한민국을 위하여 가장 시급히 해야 할 과제가 무엇인가 숙고하였습니다.
