브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 효성은 지난 22일 이사회를 열고 황윤언 전략본부장(65세)을 신임 대표이사로 선임했다고 24일 밝혔다.
신임 황윤언 대표이사는 경남 마산고등학교(1979년)와 서울대학교 공업화학과(1983년)를 졸업한 후, 1983년 효성의 전신인 동양나이론 중앙기술연구소에 입사해 40여 년간 섬유 사업 및 전략 부문에서 회사의 경쟁력 강화를 이끌어왔다.
특히, 1990년대 초반 국내 기업 최초의 스판덱스 섬유 개발에 참여한 이후, 생산 및 연구개발을 주도하며 효성을 글로벌 1위 스판덱스 기업으로 성장시키는 데 핵심적인 역할을 했다.
황 대표이사는 1999년 스판덱스 생산팀장을 맡은 데 이어, 2000년 구미공장장, 2001년 중국 가흥법인 총경리로서 해외 시장 개척을 이끌었다. 이후 2005년 중국 스판덱스 총괄 겸 광동법인 총경리를 역임하며 글로벌 시장 확대를 주도했으며, 2010년부터는 스판덱스PU장을 맡아 효성의 스판덱스 사업을 세계적인 수준으로 성장시키는 데 기여했다.
이러한 공로를 인정받아 지난 1998년에는 올해의 효성인상과 공로상을 수상하기도 했다. 2021년부터 전략본부장을 맡아 중장기 전략 수립과 기술경영을 총괄하며, 효성의 지속 가능한 성장과 혁신을 위해 힘써 왔다.
