브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 신세계그룹은 산불로 인한 지역사회의 피해 복구를 위해 성금 5억원을 지원한다고 25일 밝혔다.
이번 성금은 ‘희망브리지 전국재해구호협회’에 기탁하며, 산불 피해 지역의 복구 및 이재민 지원 등에 사용할 예정이다.
성금 기탁과 함께 구호 물품 지원에도 나섰다. 이마트, 이마트24 등 신세계그룹 계열사들은 산불 피해로 지원이 필요한 곳에 지자체와 구호협회를 통해 생필품과 위생용품, 의류 등을 지원했다.
신세계그룹은 이마트를 통해 지난 23일 산불 피해 지역에 긴급 구호 물품을 신속히 지원했다. 이마트는 지난해 2월 산불 및 집중호우 피해에 대비하기 위해 대한적십자사에 1억 원을 기부해 긴급구호세트 1000여 개를 마련했으며, 그중 250가구분(약 2500만 원 상당)의 응급구호키트를 전달했다. 각 지자체에서 추가 물품 지원을 요청할 경우, 인근 지역 점포를 통해 신속히 추가 지원을 이어갈 계획이다.
이마트24는 지난 24일 전국재해구호협회와 함께 경북 의성군, 경남 산청군 등에 마스크, 음료, 에너지바 등 600여명분의 구호품을 전달했다.
신세계그룹 관계자는 “산불로 피해를 입은 분들께 작게나마 힘을 보태고자 복구 성금과 생필품 지원을 결정했다”며 “이재민들과 지역사회의 피해 복구에 보탬이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
