브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= LG는 26일 최근 경상도에서 동시다발적으로 일어난 산불로 큰 피해를 입은 지역의 주민들을 돕기 위해 사회복지공동모금회에 성금 20억원을 기탁했다고 밝혔다. 기탁한 성금은 산불 피해 지역의 복구 및 이재민 지원을 위해 쓰일 예정이다.
LG 관계자는 “갑작스러운 재난으로 삶의 터전을 잃고 어려움을 겪고 있는 피해 지역 주민들이 하루빨리 일상으로 돌아갈 수 있도록 피해를 조속히 복구하는 데 조금이나마 도움이 되고자 한다”고 전했다.
LG 계열사들도 산불 피해 주민 돕기에 적극 나서고 있다.
LG전자는 임시대피소에서 사용할 수 있도록 공기청정기 등 가전제품을 지원하는 한편, 피해를 입은 가전제품을 무상으로 수리하기 위한 이동서비스센터를 운영한다.
LG생활건강은 이재민들을 위해 5억원 규모의 칫솔, 치약, 샴푸, 바디워시 등 생활필수품을 지원할 계획이다.
LG유플러스는 경남 산청·하동군, 경북 의성군 일대의 구호활동 지원을 위해 배터리 충전 차량을 운영하고, 임시 와이파이 서비스를 제공하는 등 원활한 통신 서비스 제공에 만전을 기하고 있다. 또한, 색칠 그램책·장남감 등으로 구성된 아동용 키트를 지원해 피해 현장의 아동 돌봄까지 지원하는 한편, 동물자유연대와 협의해 이재민들의 반려동물을 구호하기 위한 활동도 진행 중이다.
