한덕수 대통령 권한대행 국무총리가 1일 서부전선 최전방 부대들을 방문해 장병들을 격려하고 "군은 북한이 감행할 수 있는 모든 도발 시나리오를 예측해 철저히 대비해 나가야 한다"고 강조했다.
한 권한대행은 이날 오후 육군 1사단 도라OP(관측소)·판문점 공동경비구역(JSA) 대대를 찾아 "최근 한반도 안보상황은 그 어느 때보다 엄중하다"며 이같이 확고한 대비태세 유지를 당부했다.
한 대행은 1시단 도라OP 전망대에서 지형설명 등 브리핑을 받은 후 격려사에서 "확고한 정신무장·강력한 전투력으로 대비태세를 더욱 굳건히해 적이 감히 넘볼 수 없도록 해야 한다"며 "만약 적이 도발할 경우 압도적 대응해 도발 의지를 분쇄해야 한다"고 강조했다.

이어 JSA 대대를 방문해 굳건한 한·미동맹과 확고한 연합방위태세 유지를 당부한 동시에 영남지역 산불 진화에 헬기를 지원해준 주한미군에 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
한 대행은 "한반도 안보상황이 그 어느 때보다도 엄중한 오늘날 JSA 대대 역할은 더욱 중요하다"며 "지금처럼 한미 장병들이 전우애로 굳게 단결해 연합대비태세를 확고히 유지해 주길 당부한다"고 독려했다.
