현재 우크라이나군의 병력 손실은 매우 심각한 수준이다. 스트라나.ua에 따르면 바흐무트 시가지 전투에서 죽고 부상당한 병사들은 하루 평균 전체 부대원의 5%에 달하고 있다. 예를 들어 10일 간 전투를 치르면, 부대원 절반을 잃을 수 있다는 얘기다. 최근 전투가 치열했던 바흐무트와 우글레다르, 아브디프카에서는 전투 중, 부대의 2~3배의 병력을 잃기도 했다. 우크라이나군 병사들은 보통 10~15일간 최전선에 배치되었다가 교체된다. 한 부대의 부대원 중 15~20%가 최전선에, 나머지는 2선과 3선 방어선에 주둔하는데, 15일 정도 지나면 순환 배치되는게 현재 상황이다.
