[브레이크뉴스=박찬호 기자] 한국남동발전이 세계적인 국제발명품 전시회에서 R&D 신기술 제품을 출품해 3관왕을 차지하며, R&D 기술력을 세계적으로 인정받았다.
한국남동발전은 지난 9일부터 13일까지 스위스 제네바에서 열린 ‘2025 스위스 제네바 국제발명품 전시회’에 2점의 발명품을 출품해 금상, 은상, 특별상 등 총 3개 분야에서 수상했다고 밝혔다.
강기윤 사장 취임 이후 남동발전은 KOEN 연구소를 출범하는 등 R&D 역량 강화를 위해 힘을 쏟고 있으며, 이번 수상을 통해 연구기능 강화의 성과를 공식적으로 인정받게 됐다.
이번 스위스 제네바 국제전시회는 뉘른베르크(독일), 피츠버그(미국)와 함께 세계 3대 발명품 전시회 중 하나이다. 올해에는 총 42개국 약 1,050여점의 발명품이 출품됐다.
디지털 대전환을 추진하고 있는 한국남동발전은 지난 2023년 국내 최초 운영 중인 발전소를 대상으로 한 KOEN형 디지털 트윈을 완성했으며, 이후 기술경쟁력 제고를 위해 재생에너지 분야까지 확대하고자 국내 중소기업인 ㈜디엑스랩즈와 ‘스마트 풍력발전단지 운영 디지털 트윈’ 기술을 공동 개발했다.
남동발전은 이번 출품을 통해 영흥 풍력발전단지에서 운영 중인 발전기 대상 성능분석, 이상감지 및 정비주기 최적화 기술 개발에 대한 공로를 인정받아 주최측으로부터 금상 및 특별상을 수상했다.
두 번째 출품작인 ‘퐁력발전기 화재 예방을 위한 전력변환기 화재예측감지 시스템 플랫폼’은 국내 중소기업인 ㈜무하기술과 공동 개발한 기술로 풍력발전기 너셀 내부 전력변환기의 전기적, 열적 상태 감시를 통해 이상 상태 예측 및 화재발생을 감시하는 기술이다. 이번 전시회에서 이 기술을 선보임으로써 많은 참가자들에게 관심을 불러일으켰고, 시스템의 독창성과 기술력을 인정받아 은상을 수상하는 등 국가 기술경쟁력 제고 및 위상을 드높였다.
