윤은기 회장은 수상소감에서 "나라는 군이 지키고 군은 국민이 지켜야한다는 신념으로 늘 국군장병을 응원하고 있다" 면서 "나는 평생 군인으로 살고 있다. 젊어서는 현역 군인이고 전역후에는 예비역 군인이다" 라고 강조했다.
성일종 국회 국방위원장은 평생을 국방안보 정책지원과 국군장병을 응원해 온 일은 투철한 애국심과 사명감없이는 불가능한 일이라면서 공적을 높이 평가했다.
