이번 사업은 전국 150개 청년단체가 신청한 가운데, 서류·현지실사·발표 등 3단계 심사를 거쳐 전국 12개소가 최종 선정되었다. 거창군은 올해 ‘대한민국 최초, 3대 청년친화도시’로 지정된 데 이어, 지역 청년단체 ‘덕유산고라니들(대표 박영민)’이 청년마을 사업에 선정되면서 지속가능한 청년정책의 성과를 가시화하는 성과를 이뤄냈다.
덕유산고라니들은 딸기, 사과, 산양삼 등 다양한 품목을 재배하는 청년농업인 10명으로 구성된 청년단체로, 거창군 전역을 기반으로 활발한 공동체 활동을 이어가고 있다. 이들은 단순한 농업 생산을 넘어, 행정과 지역 주민들과의 지속적인 소통과 협업을 통해 지역에 활기를 불어넣고, 청년 농업의 가능성을 실험하는 플랫폼 역할을 해왔다.
