브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이준석 개혁신당 대선 후보와의 갈등으로 당 대표직을 상실한 허은아 전 대표가 23일 탈당과 함께 대선 출마를 선언했다.
허은아 전 대표는 이날 국회 정문 앞에서 기자회견을 열고 "한때 모든 것을 걸고 함께했던 개혁신당과 결별을 선언하는 이유는 단 하나다. 이준석이라는 거짓 정치인, 그리고 그의 사유물이 돼버린 이 정당을 더 이상 사랑할 수도, 지지할 수도 없기 때문"이라며 탈당 이유를 설명했다.
그는 "지금의 개혁신당은 우리가 경계했던 낡은 정치보다 더 철저히 민주주의를 무너트리는 기괴한 정치의 민낯을 드러내고 있다"면서 "개혁은 사라졌고 이준석 한 사람의 ‘천상천하 유아독존’ 정치 무대가 됐다. 이준석은 윤석열을 닮았다. 그러나 더 교묘하고 더 철저하게 정당을 사유화했다"고 비판했다.
이어 "탈당은 책임을 회피하기 위한 탈출이 아니라 책임을 다하기 위한 선택"이라고 강조하며 대선 출마를 공식화했다.
허은아 전 대표는 이번 조기 대선에 무소속으로 출마하겠다면서 "진짜 개혁을 꿈꾸는 이들과 함께 반드시 그 길을 열어나가겠다. 분열과 갈등을 넘어 희망과 책임의 정치로 나아가겠다"고 약속했다.
한편, 허 전 대표는 이날 당협위원장급을 포함한 30여명의 인사들과 동반 탈당했다.
