20일 공개된, 뉴시스 의뢰로 여론조사 회사 에이스리서치가 지난 18~19일 이틀간 전국 만 18세 이상 남녀 1004명을 대상으로 실시한 여론조사에서 '국민의힘 김문수 후보와 개혁신당 이준석 후보 간에 단일화가 필요하다고 생각하는지'를 묻는 질문에 '필요하다'는 응답은 33.1%를 기록했다. '필요하지 않다'고 응답한 비율은 60.4%로 필요하다는 응답보다 27.3%p 높게 나타났다.
다만 국민의힘 지지층 내에선 '단일화가 필요하다'고 답한 응답자가 68.6%, '필요하지 않다'고 답한 응답자는 26.4%로, 필요하다는 응답이 42.2%p나 높았다.
이준석 후보의 지지층에선 '필요하지 않다'고 응답한 비율이 68.7%, 필요하다고 응답한 비율은 27.9%로 나타나 40.8%p의 차이를 보였다.
