(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 지난 26일 한국프레스센터에서 열린 ‘제1회 지방정부 AI혁신 대상’ 시상식에서 경제문화 부문 수상기관으로 선정되어 아주경제 회장상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 이번 수상은 인천시가 스마트 드론을 활용한 해양환경관리시스템을 성공적으로 구축한 성과를 인정받은 결과다.
시상식이 열린 한국프레스센터 프레스클럽에는 인천시를 비롯해 인공지능(AI) 혁신을 통해 성과를 거둔 여러 지방정부가 참여해 성과를 공유하고 경험을 나누는 의미 있는 시간을 가졌다.
지방정부 AI혁신 대상은 아주경제, AJP, ABC가 공동 주최하고 행정안전부, 과학기술정보통신부, 국회 행정안전위원회가 후원하는 행사로, 사회안전, 경제문화, 돌봄복지, 공공행정 등 다양한 분야에서 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용한 혁신 사례를 발굴해 시상한다.

인천시의 스마트 드론 기반 해양환경관리시스템 구축 사업은 총 70억 원의 예산이 투입됐으며 이 중 49억 원은 국비, 21억 원은 시비로 지원된다.
위성과 드론, 소나 등을 활용해 해양쓰레기를 입체적으로 파악하고, 인공지능(AI) 기술을 통해 분석 및 예측해 수거 경로를 최적화함으로써 정화운반선(옹진청정호)의 이동 거리를 30% 단축하고 탄소 배출량을 40% 줄이는 효과로 인천시의 지속 가능한 발전에도 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.
이번 수상을 계기로 인천시는 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용한 정책을 더욱 확대하고, 지속 가능한 해양환경 관리와 지역 경제 발전을 위한 노력을 이어갈 계획이다.
