(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천서부경찰서가 28일, 어린이와 노인을 비롯한 교통약자의 보행안전 확보를 위해 자체 제작한 교육.홍보 영상을 활용하여 지역 내 교통안전 문화 확산에 눈에 띄는 성과를 거두고 있다고 밝혔다.
서부서에 따르면, 이번 교육.홍보 영상은 초등학교를 시작으로 어린이집,유치원,노인센터,경로당,병원,맘카페 등 다양한 생활거점에 현출되고 있으며, 5월 현재까지 총 825개소에 송출했고 287,745명이 시청한 것으로 집계됐다.
이는 서구 전체 인구의 약 3분의1에 해당하는 수치로, 사실상 서구 주민 대부분이 해당 영상을 접한 셈이다.
이와 같은 선제적 예방 활동 결과, 2025년 3월 영상송출 이후 현재까지 서구 지역 내 보행자 교통사망사고는 단 한건도 발생하지 않는 성과를 달성했다.
한편, 서부경찰서는 이번 사업을 지역 전역으로 확대해 시행 중이며, 타 지자체와의 협업을 통한 전국적 확산도 검토 중이다.
