인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 캠페인은 혐오와 조롱, 따돌림 등 언어로 인한 갈등이 심화되는 상황에서 올바른 언어·미디어 활용 습관을 형성하고, 존중과 배려가 살아 있는 사회문화를 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.
캠페인은 인천 관내 초·중·고등학교를 대상으로 오는 11월까지 진행되며 ‘읽걷쓰 4P’ 역량 기반 교육 프로그램 개발, 교사 대상 역량 강화 연수, 학생 대상 찾아가는 교육, ‘따뜻한 말’을 주제로 한 송폼(song+short form) 공모전 등이 추진된다.
인천시교육청 관계자는 “이번 캠페인이 학생들의 언어·미디어 사용 습관을 개선하고 언어 폭력 예방과 인성·시민성 함양의 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “서로를 배려하고 존중하는 문화가 학교 현장에 확산되도록 지속해서 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
