충남도교육청(교육감 김지철)이 지난 7일, 서산중앙고등학교에서 ‘2025 상상이룸 나눔마당 2권역’ 행사를 성황리에 개최했다고 9일 밝혔다.
‘같이 상상, 가치 미래!’, ‘미래를 바꾸는 착한 상상’을 주제로 한 이번 행사는 당진·서산·태안 지역 학생, 학부모, 교직원 등 1,000여 명이 함께하며 지역 교육공동체의 상상이룸 실천 사례를 공유하고, 창의적 문제해결 역량을 기르는 소통의 장으로 꾸며졌다.
상상이룸 나눔마당은 충남교육청이 추진 중인 상상이룸교육의 대표 공유 행사다. 이 교육은 질문과 탐구 중심의 수업을 기반으로, 학생 주도의 창작과 실천 경험을 통해 미래사회 핵심역량을 길러내는 데 초점을 두고 있다.
이날 행사에서는 오전 시간, 80여 가족이 참여한 ‘가족상상이룸 체험마당’이 열렸다. 종이비행기 국가대표 선수가 직접 참여해 비행 원리를 설명하고, 가족이 함께 제작하는 시간을 통해 과학적 사고력과 협동심을 동시에 키우는 활동이 펼쳐졌다.
또한, 20개의 체험 부스가 운영되며 참여자들의 이목을 끌었다. 체험은 인공지능(AI), 드론, 환경, 전통 기술, 3D 모델링 등 다양한 분야를 융합한 콘텐츠로 구성됐다.
프로그램을 운영한 주체도 다양했다. 상상이룸공작소, 교사학습공동체, 학생 동아리, 학부모회 등이 자발적으로 부스를 열어 체험을 진행하며 지역 교육자원 간의 유기적 협력이 돋보였다.
주요 체험 부스로는 천안상상이룸공작소의 ‘띵커캐드(TinkerCAD)를 활용한 3D 모델링’, 금산상상이룸공작소의 '같이 놀이, 가치 놀喜(희) 영웅의 무기 활 만들기’, 충남로봇센터의 ‘AI 기반 분리수거 로봇’, 백화초등학교 멸·똥·별동아리의 ‘멸종위기 동·식물을 위한 키링 만들기’ 학부모회 주관 ‘페이스페인팅’ 등이 있었으며, 모든 부스에는 긴 대기줄이 이어질 정도로 뜨거운 관심이 쏟아졌다.
김지철 교육감은 현장을 찾은 자리에서 “창의력, 문제해결력, 그리고 협력하는 힘은 미래사회에서 가장 중요한 역량이 될 것”이라며, “보고 만들고 함께 나누는 오늘의 경험들이 아이들에게는 즐거움을 넘어 생각을 확장하고 새로운 가능성을 여는 계기가 되기를 바란다”고 전했다. 이어 “작은 호기심에서 출발한 상상이 먼 훗날 세상을 바꾸는 변화의 씨앗이 될 수 있다”고 덧붙였다.
충남교육청은 상상이룸 나눔마당을 5개 권역으로 나눠 순차적으로 개최 중이다. 권역별 지역 특성을 반영한 체험 중심의 구성으로, 학생과 가족이 함께 문제를 해결하며 배움의 확장을 경험할 수 있도록 기획됐다. 교육청은 상상이룸교육이 단지 교실 안에 머무르지 않고, 가정과 지역사회로 확산되어 지역 교육문화 전반에 창의성과 연대의 가치를 불어넣는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
