대통령실이 16일 장·차관·공공기관장 국민추천제 관련해 "전날까지 접수가 7만 4000여건을 기록했다"고 밝혔다.
강유정 대변인은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실 브리핑에서 "오늘 오후 6시 마감 이후 객관적 평가를 거쳐 대상자가 선정되면 투명한 검증 절차에 들어갈 예정"이라며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "국민 추천제는 국민주권시대를 활짝 열어갈 진짜 일꾼을 찾으려는 취지로 다양한 분야서 역동적이고 좋은 인재가 발굴됐으면 하는 바람"이라며 "인기투표가 아닌 만큼 추천 횟수는 단순 참고 사항일 뿐이며 추천 횟수 보단 추천 사유가 더 중요한 판단 요소가 될 것"이라고 했다.
또 "추천된 인재는 이번에 임용되지 않더라도 엄격한 검증을 거쳐 인재 데이터베이스에 등록돼 이재명 정부 추후 인사에 활용될 예정"이라며 "오늘 하루 국민 여러분의 많은 참여를 기대한다"고 덧붙였다.
앞서 지난 10일 대통령실은 국민이 직접 장·차관·공공기관장 등을 추천하는 '진짜 일꾼 찾기 프로젝트'를 시작한 가운데 추천된 이들은 공직기강비서관실 검증 절차를 거친 후 정식 임명된다.
