(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부천시가 16일, 관내 버스업체인 ㈜소신여객자동차를 ‘버스 운전자 양성기관’으로 지정·고시했다고 밝혔다.
부천시에 따르면, ‘여객자동차 운수사업법 시행규칙’에 따르면 버스 운전업무에 종사하려는 사람은 국토교통부 장관 또는 지방자치단체장이 지정·고시한 버스 운전자 양성기관에서 교육과정을 이수해야 한다.
그동안 버스 운전자 취업예정자는 경기 화성에 있는 ‘한국교통안전공단 화성교통안전체험교육센터’에서 교육을 받아야 했다.
교육 수요가 많아 신청 후 약 3개월가량 대기해야 하는 상황이 반복됐다.
이로 인한 생계가 어려운 일부 지원자는 취업을 포기하고, 버스업체는 신규 운전자를 제때 충원하기 어려운 문제가 발생했다.
부천시는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 관내 시내버스 업체를 버스 운전자 양성기관으로 지정하고, 업체가 자체적으로 법정 운전자 양성교육을 시행할 수 있도록 했다.
이에 따라 시는 자체 교육을 통해 신규 운전자 수급에 소요되는 기간을 줄이고, 버스 운전자 부족 문제를 해소함으로써 배차 간격 단축 등 대중교통 서비스 개선에 기여할 계획이다.

또한, 부천시가 16일, 스토리산업 시대를 선도할 창작 인재를 양성하기 위해 ‘제4기 부천스토리텔링아카데미’ 수강생을 모집한다고 밝혔다.
부천시에 따르면, 부천스토리텔링아카데미는 유네스코 문학창의도시 부천의 핵심 사업 중 하나로, 스토리텔링 역량을 갖춘 창작자를 육성하고, 지역 문화콘텐츠 산업을 활성화하기 위해 운영되는 프로그램이다.
시는 이번 아카데미를 통해 부천의 특화된 이야기 자원을 지속적으로 발굴하고 확산함으로써, 창작 생태계를 확장하는 데에도 힘쓸 계획이다. 모집 인원은 총 40명이며, 학력과 연령 제한 없이 누구나 지원할 수 있다.
접수는 6월 25일부터 7월 9일까지며, 부천시청 홈페이지 공고란 또는 부천스토리창 홈페이지에서 지원신청서를 내려받아 전자우편 또는 방문(부천시 원미구 소향로 181, 센트럴파크 푸르지오 상가 2층 문화정책과) 접수 방식으로 제출하면 된다.
교육은 2025년 9월부터 이듬해 6월까지 총 4학기제로 운영되며, 매주 화·목요일 저녁 7시부터 10시까지 웹툰융합센터에서 진행된다.
강의는 스토리텔링 전문가와 작가가 맡으며, 상반기에는 기본 이론과 실습 중심 교육이, 하반기에는 장르별 창작, 매체 활용, 공모전 대비 멘토링 중심의 심화 과정이 운영된다.
