이재명 대통령이 16일 1박 3일 일정의 캐나다 G7(주요 7개국) 정상회의 참석차 출국했다. 부인 김혜경 여사를 동반한 이번 외유는 취임 후 첫 해외 방문이자 국제무대 데뷔전이다.
이 대통령 내외는 이날 오후 경기 성남 서울공항에서 대통령 전용기 공군 1호기 편으로 캐나다 방문길에 올랐다.
이 대통령은 첫날인 이날 오후(현지시간) 캐나다 캘거리에 도착해 먼저 초청국 주요 정상들과 양자 회담을 가질 예정이다.
이튿날인 오는 17일 오전(현지시간) 앨버타주 카나스키스에서 열리는 G7 국가·초청국 포함 확대 세션에 참석하는 가운데 이 대통령은 에너지 공급망 다변화·인공지능(AI) 에너지 연계 등을 주제로 발언 예정이다.
가장 주목되는 건 이번에 이 대통령·도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령 간 한·미 정상회담 성사 여부다. 또 동일선상에서 연계된 두 정상-이시바 시게루 일본 총리 간 한·미·일 정상 회담 개최 여부다. 전날 대통령실은 "현재 여러 나라들과 조율 중"이라고 전하면서 명확한 답을 하지 않아 주목된다.
