선린대학교 응급구조과, ‘2025 캡스톤디자인 연구 발표 및 시상식’ 성료

【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환) 응급구조과는 6월 17일 사랑관 302호에서 전문대학혁신사업의 일환으로 ‘2025 캡스톤디자인 연구 발표 및 시상식’을 개최하며 학생들의 현장 중심 연구성과를 공유하는 뜻깊은 자리를 마련했다.

이날 발표에는 총 6개 팀이 참여해 ▲응급의료폐기물 교육 효과 ▲공공장소 AED(자동심장충격기) 관리 실태 ▲소방공무원의 외상후스트레스장애(PTSD) 관리 ▲보건계열 대학생의 헌혈 시행 인식조사 ▲경찰 조직 내 응급구조사 수요조사 ▲도박중독의 요인 조사 등 응급구조 현장에서 직면할 수 있는 다양한 주제를 심도 있게 다뤘다.

특히 최우수상은 ‘이성은 학생 팀’과 ‘조영태 학생 팀’이 공동 수상했다. 이성은 학생 팀은 포항시 500세대 이상 아파트를 대상으로 AED 관리 실태를 조사해 공공 안전장비의 관리 현황을 면밀히 분석하며 실효성 확보 방안을 제시했다. 조영태 학생 팀은 소방공무원의 PTSD 관리 실태를 심층 분석해 응급 대응 인력의 정신건강 문제 해결의 중요성을 부각시켰다.

수상 소감을 전한 이성은 학생은 “응급구조사로서 AED 관리 문제의 현실을 직접 확인하고 해결책을 고민할 수 있어 유익한 시간이었다”고 전했으며, 조영태 학생은 “소방공무원들의 정신적 회복탄력성 확보가 절실함을 실감했다”고 밝혔다.

현진숙 응급구조과 학과장은 “학생들이 응급구조사의 시각으로 현장 문제를 분석하고 해결방안을 도출해본 의미 있는 경험이었다”며, “앞으로도 실질적 연구 역량을 키울 수 있는 다양한 교육적 지원을 계속해 나가겠다”고 강조했다.

한편, 선린대학교 응급구조과는 1995년 전국 최초로 개설된 응급구조학과로, 현재까지 약 2,100여 명의 졸업생을 배출했다. 졸업생들은 소방·구급·해양경찰·군무원 등 다양한 분야의 응급의료 전문 인력으로 활약하며, 30년간 대한민국 응급의료 현장에 중추적 역할을 해오고 있다.

Seonlin University Department of Emergency Medical Services, ‘2025 Capstone Design Research Presentation and Awards Ceremony’ Completed

On June 17, Seonlin University (President Kwak Jin-hwan) Department of Emergency Medical Services held the ‘2025 Capstone Design Research Presentation and Awards Ceremony’ as part of the professional college innovation project in Room 302 of Sarang Hall, creating a meaningful place to share students’ field-centered research results.

A total of six teams participated in the presentation that day, and covered various topics that can be faced in emergency medical services in depth, such as ▲Effectiveness of Emergency Medical Waste Education ▲Status of AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Management in Public Places ▲Management of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in Firefighters ▲Survey on Blood Donation Awareness among College Students in Health Care Departments ▲Survey on Demand for Emergency Medical Technicians in Police Organizations ▲Survey on Factors of Gambling Addiction.

In particular, the Grand Prize was jointly awarded to ‘Lee Seong-eun Student Team’ and ‘Cho Young-tae Student Team’. The Lee Seong-eun team investigated the status of AED management in apartments with more than 500 households in Pohang City, closely analyzed the status of public safety equipment management, and presented measures to ensure effectiveness. The Cho Young-tae team deeply analyzed the status of PTSD management in firefighters and highlighted the importance of solving mental health problems in emergency response personnel.

In her acceptance speech, Lee Seong-eun said, “As an emergency medical technician, it was a beneficial time to directly confirm the reality of AED management problems and think about solutions,” and Cho Young-tae said, “I realized the urgent need to secure mental resilience for firefighters.”

Hyun Jin-sook, head of the Department of Emergency Medical Services, emphasized, “It was a meaningful experience for students to analyze on-site problems from the perspective of emergency medical technicians and derive solutions,” and “We will continue to provide various educational support that can foster practical research capabilities in the future.”

Meanwhile, the Department of Emergency Medical Services at Sunlin University was the first emergency medical service department in the country to be established in 1995, and has produced approximately 2,100 graduates to date. Graduates are active as emergency medical service professionals in various fields such as firefighting, paramedics, maritime police, and military personnel, and have played a pivotal role in the emergency medical field in Korea for 30 years.
