충남도, '발달장애인 인권 실태' 첫 조사 착수

충청남도가 도내 발달장애인의 인권 현황을 본격적으로 들여다보는 조사에 착수했다. 장애인학대 피해의 상당수를 차지하는 발달장애인의 현실을 정밀하게 파악하고, 실효성 있는 정책 기초자료를 마련하겠다는 취지다.

충남도는 19일 도청 문예회관에서 ‘발달장애인 인권 실태조사 연구용역’ 착수보고회를 열고, 조사 추진의 방향과 연구 계획을 공유했다. 이번 연구는 충남도 인권센터 주관 아래 인천대학교 산학협력단이 수행하며, 연말까지 진행될 예정이다.

도에 따르면 2023년 기준 충남에 등록된 장애인은 총 13만 4,004명이며, 이 가운데 발달장애인은 1만 4,510명으로 전체의 10.8%를 차지하고 있다. 특히 최근 5년간 장애 유형 중 발달장애가 가장 빠른 증가세를 보이고 있다.
