충남교육청(교육감 김지철)은 24일 대한기계설비건설협회 대전·세종·충남도회(회장 이태왕)로부터 도내 저소득층 학생들을 위한 장학금 1,000만 원을 기탁받았다고 밝혔다. 이번 기탁은 2023년에 이어 세 번째 이어지는 장학금 전달이다.
이날 오전 충남교육청에서 열린 장학금 전달식에는 김지철 교육감을 비롯해 협회 이태왕 회장, 황선입 부회장, 방선식 감사, 이영국 운영위원 등 협회 임원진과 교육청 관계자들이 참석해 따뜻한 나눔의 뜻을 함께했다.
기탁금은 충남교육청 산하 교육사랑장학재단을 통해 도내 유치원부터 초·중·고등학생 가운데 저소득층 및 다문화가정 학생들을 대상으로 장학금으로 전달될 예정이다. 교육사랑장학재단은 2007년 설립 이후 지금까지 6,239명의 학생에게 장학금을 지원하며, 해마다 2억~3억 원 규모의 장학사업을 펼치고 있다.
장학금을 전달한 대한기계설비건설협회 이태왕 회장은 “경제적 형편이 어려운 학생들이 좌절하지 않고 자신의 꿈을 향해 나아갈 수 있도록 작게나마 힘을 보태고 싶다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 함께 성장할 수 있는 나눔 활동을 지속하겠다”고 말했다.
김지철 충남교육감은 "매년 지속적으로 장학금을 전달해주셔서 감사드린다”라며, “어려운 학생들에게 따뜻한 마음을 나눠주셔서 진심으로 뜻깊게 여긴다”라고 감사 인사를 전했다.
