브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 국민연금공단(이사장 김태현)은 27일 저소득층 장애아동을 위한 재활치료비 5292만 원을 한국사회복지협의회(회장 김성이)에 전달했다고 밝혔다.
이번 후원금은 공단 임직원의 자발적 참여로 급여에서 매월 일정액을 원천공제해 조성한 ‘1인 1나눔 기금’으로 마련됐다. 공단은 한국장애인부모회(고선순 회장)를 통해 추천받은 장애아동 21명에게 1년 동안 매월 1인당 20만 원씩 지원할 예정이다.
공단은 2012년부터 이날까지 총 222명의 저소득층 장애아동에게 5억 4천만 원의 재활치료비를 후원했다. 후원금은 재활보조기구 구매, 물리치료, 재활훈련 등의 비용으로 사용되고 있다.
이 밖에도 공단은 장애인의 권익증진을 위한 다양한 복지서비스를 제공하고 있다. 보호자에게 방임돼 장애인 등록조차 돼 있지 않는 이들을 위해 장애인 등록 검사·진단 비용을 지급하는 ‘장애인 인권 119 긴급 지원 서비스’가 대표적이다.
또한, 2022년 정부 시범사업으로 시작된 ‘발달장애인 재산관리지원서비스’를 위탁받아 안정적으로 운영한 결과, 2025년 10월부터 ‘발달장애인 권리보장 및 지원에 관한 법률’ 개정에 따라 법정 위탁기관으로 해당 서비스를 본격 추진할 예정이다.
