[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 3일 오후 2시30분께 시청 시민홀에서 대한국토·도시계획학회 주관으로 ‘2025 진주시 도시정책 한일국제학술세미나’를 열고 미래 도시 발전 전략을 모색했다.
이날 행사에는 조규일 진주시장을 비롯해 최봉문 학회장, 노무라 일본 오사카대 교수, 도시계획 전문가, 공무원, 시민 등 150여명이 참석했다.
세미나는 1부 기조·특별강연과 2부 학술 세미나로 나뉘어 진행됐으며, 진주시의 도시 발전 방향과 지역 산업 연계 방안 등이 중점적으로 다뤄졌다.
1부에서는 정창수 전 국토부 차관이 ‘미래의 지방도시 발전전략’을 주제로 지방도시의 자립 기반과 정책적 대응 방향을 제시했다.
이어 강병수 전 충남대 부총장은 ‘첨단산업과 살기 좋은 도시 발전 방안’을 주제로 도시와 산업의 연계성을 강조하는 특별강연을 진행했다.
2부 학술 세미나에서는 김영 진주도시재생지원센터장이 좌장을 맡아 도시공간 전략과 도심 활성화 방안 등에 대한 발표와 토론이 이어졌다.
주요 발표 주제로는 AI·우주항공 산업정책과 지역 발전, 살고 싶은 지방도시 전략, 도심공간 활성화 방안 등이 논의됐다.
이날 참석한 전문가들은 진주시가 직면한 지방소멸 위기에 대응하기 위해 첨단산업 유치와 도시계획 전략의 연계가 필요하다고 입을 모았다.

Jinju City held the ‘2025 Jinju City Urban Policy Korea-Japan International Academic Seminar’ hosted by the Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning at the City Hall Citizens’ Hall at 2:30 PM on the 3rd and explored future city development strategies.
