【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구가 시설보호아동과 자립준비청년의 안정적인 사회 정착을 돕기 위해 민·관이 함께하는 자립지원 프로젝트를 본격적으로 시작했다고 8일 밝혔다.
남구는 지난 4일 구청 회의실에서 ‘남구 시설보호아동 자립지원 함께서기 프로젝트’ 업무협약식을 개최하고, 지역 내 10개 기관과 손잡고 공동 지원체계 구축에 나섰다.
이번 협약은 대구에서 행정기관이 주도해 민간 기관과 협력하는 첫 자립지원 사례로 의미가 더한다.
남구청은 협약에 앞서 자립지원 전담기관과 아동양육시설 관계자, 월드비전 대구경북지부 등과 여러 차례 간담회를 갖고 현장의 의견을 반영했다.
‘함께서기 프로젝트’는 ▲시설보호아동 자립을 위한 민·관 협력, ▲자립 준비교실 운영, ▲자립준비청년 통합 지원 등 세 가지 핵심 사업으로 구성됐다.
협약식에는 남구청을 비롯해 대구시 자립지원전담기관, 경북대 경제교육연구소 대구지역경제교육센터, 남구청년센터, 월드비전 대구경북본부, 대구아동복지센터, 에덴원, 호동원, 영생애육원 등 총 10개 기관이 참여했다.
현재 남구에는 9개 아동양육시설 및 공동생활가정에 194명의 아동이 거주 중이며, 이 가운데 159명이 자립지원 대상이다. 보호 종료 후에도 실질적이고 지속적인 지원이 절실한 상황이다.
조재구 남구청장은 “대구에서 처음으로 시도되는 민·관 자립지원 프로젝트인 만큼, 아이들이 사회에 안정적으로 안착할 수 있도록 촘촘한 지원체계를 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.

A total of 10 organizations participated in the agreement ceremony, including Nam-gu Office, Daegu City Self-reliance Support Organization, Kyungpook National University Economic Education Research Institute Daegu Regional Economic Education Center, Nam-gu Youth Center, World Vision Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters, Daegu Child Welfare Center, Edenwon, Hodongwon, and Youngsaeng Orphanage.
Currently, 194 children are living in 9 child care facilities and group homes in Nam-gu, and 159 of them are eligible for self-reliance support. There is an urgent need for practical and continuous support even after the end of protection.
Nam-gu Mayor Cho Jae-gu said, “As this is the first public-private self-reliance support project in Daegu, we will create a tight support system so that children can settle down in society stably.”
