도시 가족의 이주를 유도하고, 소규모 농촌학교의 존립을 도모하기 위한 ‘서천형 농촌유학’ 모델이 본격적인 궤도에 올랐다.
충남 서천군은 10일 충청남도교육청(교육감 김지철), 서천교육지원청(교육장 김흥집)과 함께 농촌유학 활성화를 위한 3자 간 업무협약을 체결하고, 관련 정책의 실행 기반을 다졌다.
이번 협약은 교육·행정·지역사회가 손을 맞잡고, 농촌유학을 매개로 지역 인구 감소와 공동체 해체라는 구조적 문제에 대응하자는 취지에서 마련됐다.
협약식은 서천교육지원청에서 열렸으며, 김기웅 서천군수, 김지철 교육감, 김흥집 교육장을 비롯해 관내 초등학교장, 교직원, 서천군 농촌유학 TF 관계자 등 30여 명이 참석해 협력 의지를 다졌다.
