이재명 대통령이 15일 "각 부처는 관행적으로 편성되는 예산·효율이 떨어지는 낭비성 예산들을 과감히 조정해달라"고 주문했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 열린 제31차 국무회의 모두 발언에서 "내년도 예산안 편성 관련해 이런저런 얘기들이 많은 것 같다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
그러면서 "경제를 둘러싼 여건이 만만찮고 민간 기초체력도 많이 고갈된 상태란 점에서 내년도 재정의 적극적 역할이 매우 중요하다 판단된다"며 "한편으론 지금 나라 살림 여력이 그리 많지 않다는 문제도 있다"고 했다.
또 "여러 어려움이 있겠지만 국민들 의견을 예산 편성 과정에 폭넓게 반영해 효율적 예산 편성이 가능토록 준비해주기 바란다"며 "내년 예산이 회복·성장을 위한 실질적 마중물이 되도록 민생경제 중심의 효율적 예산안 편성을 준비해달라"고 덧붙였다.
한편 이 대통령은 의대생 복귀 관련해선 "늦었지만 다행스러운 일. 교육 당국이 필요한 후속 조치를 신속히 취해달라"며 "지역·필수·응급의료 공백에 대한 면밀한 보완 대책도 관련 부서에서 서둘러 마련해달라"고 주문했다.
더불어 "의대생 여러분도 국민 건강·생명을 책임지는 예비 의료인으로서의 사회적 책임을 좀 더 깊이 생각해주시길 당부드린다"며 "누구 탓이라 할 순 없으나 사회에 대화가 많이 부족하고, 모든 영역에서 대화가 원활하게 이뤄지길 바라며 당국도 의료인들과 소통을 긴밀히 해달라"고 덧붙였다.
