(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 지난 7월 20일 브라질 살바도르에서 개최된 ‘로보컵(RoboCup) 2025' 폐막식에서 차기 개최지로서 대회 상징인 대회기를 공식 인수하며 ‘로보컵(RoboCup) 2026 인천’의 본격적인 준비에 돌입했다.
인천시에 따르면, 이날 열린 행사에는 황효진 인천시 글로벌도시정무부시장이 대표로 참석해 세계 각국에 인천의 개최 책무와 비전을 공식적으로 선언했다.
‘로보컵2026'은 2026년 7월 인천 송도컨벤시아 일대에서 개최될 예정으로, 전 세계 50여 개국 3,000여 명의 참가자가 참여하고 수만 명의 관람객이 방문할 것으로 예상된다.
대회 기간 중에는 교육·산업·시민 체험을 아우르는 다양한 프로그램과 함께 ‘인천형 로봇산업 육성 정책’을 적극적으로 소개할 계획이다.
