이 사고로 공장 작업자 8명이 어지럼증 등 일산화탄소 중독이 의심되는 증세를 보여 인근 병원으로 긴급 이송됐다.
사고 직후 달성군청은 재난문자를 통해 “가스 유출이 발생했으니 창문을 닫고 실내에서 대기하라”고 안내했다. 당시 현장에서는 작업자들이 어지럼증을 호소하며 신고가 접수된 것으로 전해졌다.
소방당국은 누출된 정확한 가스의 종류와 사고 원인을 조사하고 있으며, 일산화탄소 중독 가능성에 무게를 두고 있다.
경찰과 소방당국은 공장 내 설비 상태와 안전관리 이행 여부 등도 함께 점검하고 있다.
