포항해양경찰서(서장 이근안)는 23일 06시 45분경 읍천 동방 12해리 해상에서 어선 A호(29톤, 승선원 8명)를 음주운항으로 적발했다고 밝혔다.
포항해경은 여름 성수기 음주운항 특별단속 불시 검문검색을 통해 어선 A호 선장 B씨의 음주 측정 결과 해상교통안전법 기준 0.03%를 초과한 0.139%였다.
해경은해기사 면허가 있는 기관장이 선박을 운항토록해 같은 날 감포항에 입항했다
이근안 포항해양경찰서장은 “해상에서의 음주운항은 사고 위험이 높고 사고 발생 시 대형사고로 이어질 가능성이 큰 만큼 음주운항은 절대로 하지말아야 한다”고 당부했다.
현행 법률에는 선박의 음주운항 단속 기준은 혈중알콜농도 0.03% 이상이며, 적발 시 최대 2년 이상 5년 이하 징역 또는 2천만원 이상3천만원이하 벌금으로 처벌된다.
