세종시교육청, 현장에서 '민주시민교육'의 해법 찾다

세종특별자치시교육청(교육감 최교진)이 7월 24일부터 25일까지 1박 2일 동안 서울 일대에서 교원 대상 현장체험 연수 ‘민주·인권·평화의 길’을 운영했다. 이번 연수는 교사들이 직접 한국 민주주의의 발자취를 따라가며, 인권과 평화의 의미를 교육 현장에 실천적으로 적용할 수 있도록 기획됐다.

이번 프로그램은 세 가지 주제로 나뉘어 진행됐다. 먼저 '민주의 길'에서는 민주화운동기념관과 국립 4·19 민주묘지, 근현대사박물관 등을 방문해 우리 사회가 거쳐 온 민주화 과정과 시민 참여의 역사에 대해 이해를 넓혔다. 이어 ‘인권의 길’에서는 전태일기념관과 김근태기념도서관을 찾았다. 노동 인권과 시민 인권의 실천적 의미를 조명하며, 한국 현대사 속 인권운동가들의 삶과 철학을 되새기는 시간을 가졌다. 마지막으로 ‘평화의 길’에서는 소설가 정지아 작가(아버지의 해방일지 저자)가 직접 강단에 올라 기억과 화해, 공감의 메시지를 전했다.
