【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청이 대구소프트웨어마이스터고등학교의 교육환경 개선에 본격 나선다.
시교육청은 28일, 대구 달성군 구지면에 위치한 이 학교의 공간 재구조화와 기숙사 증축 공사에 착수한다고 밝혔다. 총사업비 272억 원이 투입되며, 2026년 11월 완공이 목표다.
1971년 구지상업고등학교로 개교한 이 학교는 2016년부터 소프트웨어 분야에 특화된 특수목적고로 전환돼 전국 단위 학생을 모집하고 있다. 인공지능, 빅데이터, 프로그래밍 등 미래 산업을 겨냥한 교육과정을 운영하고 있다.
이번 공사는 개교 이후 53년간 사용된 노후 시설을 개선하고, 소프트웨어 중심 교육에 적합한 환경으로 탈바꿈하는 데 초점을 두고 있다. 연면적 약 8,172㎡ 규모로 지상 4층의 교사동을 새로 짓고, 기숙사는 2인실 중심으로 58실을 증축한다. 외부 학생용 게스트룸 17실도 함께 마련된다.
새 교사동은 층마다 교육 목적에 맞게 구성된다. 1층은 지역주민과 학생이 자유롭게 소통하는 ‘크리에이티브 허브존’, 2층은 1·2학년을 위한 실무교육 공간인 ‘에듀허브존’, 3층은 3학년의 진로 탐색과 취업 준비를 돕는 ‘커리어허브존’으로 운영될 예정이다.
기숙사는 기존 4인실 구조를 2인실로 바꿔 학생들의 생활 편의성과 학습 집중도를 높인다. 전국 각지에서 입학하는 학생들이 쾌적한 환경에서 생활할 수 있도록 전원 수용을 목표로 하고 있다. 교내 행사와 프로젝트 교육 수요를 고려해 외부 인원을 위한 공간도 확충한다.
시교육청은 설계 단계부터 학생, 교직원, 학부모의 의견을 반영하고자 학교 디자인 전시회를 여는 등 참여 중심의 계획을 수립했다고 설명했다.
강은희 교육감은 “이번 새 단장을 통해 대구소프트웨어마이스터고가 미래 산업을 이끌 핵심 인재를 길러내는 거점 학교로 다시 도약할 것”이라며 “앞으로도 학생들이 최상의 교육환경에서 배울 수 있도록 아낌없이 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
