(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 오는 10월까지 검단 가현산 등산로의 노후 시설물을 정비하고 신규 시설물을 설치하는 숲길 정비 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.
서구에 따르면, 이번 사업은 수도권매립지 특별회계의 지원을 받아 총 3억 원의 예산이 투입되며, 자연 친화적인 외관은 유지하면서 구조적 안전성을 확보하는 방향으로 진행될 계획이다.
주요 정비 사항으로는 묘각사 옆에서 가현산 정상으로 이어지는 노후 데크계단을 안전성과 내구성을 갖춘 신규 데크계단으로 교체하고, 세자봉 방향에 있는 전망쉼터를 목재와 철재가 복합된 구조로 재설치한다.
서구는 이번 정비사업 외에도 가현산 일원에 계절감 있는 명소로 조성하기 위해 진달래 식재 사업 등도 추후 단계적으로 추진할 계획이다.
서구 관계자는 “이번 정비사업으로 지역 주민과 등산객들이 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 환경에서 산행을 즐길 수 있기를 바란다”며, “앞으로도 주민들이 일상에서 자연을 가까이 누릴 수 있도록 숲길 환경을 조성해 주민들의 삶의 질 향상에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
