(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부평구가 전국 기초 지방자치단체 중 지역 주민의 안전을 위한 교육에 가장 힘쓰는 곳으로 꼽혔다.
부평구에 따르면 행정안전부는 최근 ‘2025년 국민안전교육 실태점검’을 실시했으며, 그 결과 226개 기초 지자체 중 부평구를 포함한 2곳이 우수기관으로 선정됐다.
지난 2019년부터 실시된 국민 안전교육 실태점검은 ‘국민 안전교육 진흥 기본법’에 따라, 기관별 자체평가와 민간 전문가로 구성된 중앙안전교육점검단 심의를 거쳐 이뤄진다.
부평구는 기반조성, 관심도, 협력체계 구축, 교육실적, 우수사례 발굴 등 모든 항목에서 고르게 우수한 평가를 받았다.
특히, ‘협력체계 구축’ 항목에서 ‘주민공감 안심부평’ 안전문화운동이 좋은 평가를 받았다.
안전문화운동은 민관이 함께 협업해 모든 구민이 ‘안전교육·안전점검·안전신고’를 습관화 할 수 있는 다양한 안전 실천 환경을 조성하는 사업이다.
구체적으로 동 지역자율방재단 등이 안전문화 실천 다짐 후 다음 참여기관을 지정, 릴레이 형식의 챌린지로 펼쳐지는 ‘찾아가는 생활안전교육’과 지역 내 44개소, 2천795명을 대상으로 안전취약계층의 사각지대 해소를 위해 체험위주의 생활안전 교육 및 대상자별 맞춤형 안전교육 등이 이뤄졌다.
이 밖에도 부평구는 부평안전체험관, 부평꿈나라교통공원 등 국민이 직접 체험하며 안전을 배울 수 있는 교육 환경 구축 과 아동학대예방 그림책 제작·보급 등 맞춤형 안전 예방 교육 등 재난유형별 안전체험교육을 통해 안전 사각지대를 줄이고, 주민 주도의 안전문화 정착을 유도하는 등 안전문화를 확산시키고 위기 대응 역량을 강화해 왔다.
차준택 구청장은 “부평구가 국민 안전교육 우수기관에 선정된 것은 부평 구민 여러분과 함께 만들어 낸 성과”라며 “우리 구는 앞으로도 생애주기별 체험 중심 교육을 확대하고 주민이 스스로 참여해 생활 속에서 안전이 자연스럽게 자리잡을 수 있도록 민관 협업을 통한 ‘안전한 안심부평’을 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.
