【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청은 ‘한국어 LEADING 캠프’를 운영한다고 밝혔다.
이번 캠프는 6일부터 14일까지 8박 9일간 영덕군 경상북도교육청해양수련원에서 직업계고 외국인 유학생 112명을 대상으로 진행됐다.
‘LEADING 캠프’는 한국어 학습(Learning)을 중심으로 다양한 문화 체험(Experiencing), 기술 역량 개발(Developing), 목표 달성(Achieving), 혁신(Innovating), 네트워크 형성(Networking)을 통해 글로벌(Global) 인재로 성장하도록 구성됐다.
태국, 몽골, 베트남, 인도네시아 등 4개국에서 온 유학생들은 캠프 기간 동안 △한국어 집중 수업 △한국 문화 체험 △해양 체험 활동 △Job Skill-Up 프로그램 △TOPIK 경진대회 △힐링 트레킹 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 언어와 기술, 문화를 아우르는 경험을 하게 된다.
한국어 교육 전문가들은 “경북 직업계고 유학생들은 산업 현장에서 사용하는 고급 기술 용어까지 자연스럽게 구사할 정도로 수준이 높다”며 “한국어와 기술 교육이 결합된 체계적인 프로그램을 통해 글로벌 산업에서도 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있을 것”이라고 평가했다.
경북교육청은 이번 캠프를 학기 중 실시한 기업체 탐방, 1:1 취업 멘토링 프로그램과 연계해 유학생들이 실질적인 진로를 설계할 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 이어갈 계획이다.
임종식 교육감은 “이번 캠프는 한국어를 기반으로 기술과 문화를 함께 배우는 특별한 성장의 장”이라며 “경북에서 자라는 유학생들이 한국어와 기술을 통해 세계로 나아갈 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education announced the launch of the "Korean Language Leading Camp."
The camp, held for nine days and eight nights from the 6th to the 14th at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Marine Training Center in Yeongdeok County, targeted 112 international students from vocational high schools.
The "Leading Camp" is designed to foster global talent through diverse cultural experiences, technical competency development, goal achievement, innovation, and networking, focusing on Korean language learning.
International students from four countries—Thailand, Mongolia, Vietnam, and Indonesia—will participate in a variety of programs, including intensive Korean language classes, cultural experiences, marine activities, a job skill-up program, a TOPIK competition, and a healing trek. Korean language education experts commented, "Gyeongbuk Vocational High School international students possess such a high level of fluency that they can naturally use even advanced technical terminology used in industrial settings. This systematic program, combining Korean language and technical education, will enable them to become competitive in the global industry."
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to continue supporting international students by linking this camp to the company visits and one-on-one career mentoring programs offered during the semester, enabling them to develop practical career paths.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik stated, "This camp is a unique opportunity for growth, where students can learn both technology and culture through the Korean language. We will actively support international students growing up in Gyeongbuk so that they can advance into the world through Korean and technical skills."
