세종시의회가 세종평생교육·정책연구원 초대 원장 후보자에 대한 인사청문 경과 보고서를 채택했다.
세종시의회세종평생교육·정책연구원장 후보자 인사청문특별위원회(위원장 김현미, 이하 인사특위)는 지난 12일 세종평생교육·정책연구원 원장 후보자에 대한 인사청문회를 마무리하고 이같이 결정했다.
청문회에서 인사특위 위원들은 세종시의 독자적인 정책연구기관 운영을 책임질 초대 원장으로서의 후보자의 자질과 전문성, 도덕성 등을 추궁했다.
특위 위원들은 ▲정책 비전 ▲전문성 ▲도덕성 ▲조직관리 능력 등을 검증했으며, 연구와 교육 기능을 통합해 새롭게 출범하는 연구원의 초대 원장에게 요구되는 명확한 비전과 통합적 리더십등을 물었다.
이에 대해 권 후보자는 “그동안 관·산·학의 경험을 통해 축적한 전문성을 바탕으로 연구원의 설립 목적에 부합하는 연구와 교육 기능의 융합에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
김현미 위원장은 “후보자의 자질과 능력을 다각도로 검증한 결과, 세종시 주요 현안 해결을 위한 연구와 정책 대응에 주도적으로 임하려는 의지를 확인했다”며, “앞으로 시의회와 긴밀한 소통을 통해 지역 정책 연구개발을 통한 공공서비스를 강화해 나가길 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편, 세종시의회 인사특위는 인사청문 경과 보고서에 ‘적합’ 의견을 냈다.
