【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구치매안심센터가 '도자기 꽃 피다' 인지강화 도예교실을 성공적으로 마쳤다고 21일 밝혔다.
센터는 계명문화대학교 산학협력단과 손잡고 지난 6월 16일부터 8월 20일까지 총 20회에 걸쳐 문화예술치유 프로그램을 운영했다.
문화체육관광부의 '마음치유, 봄처럼' 사업에 선정되어 시작된 이번 프로그램에는 경도인지장애 진단자와 치매 고위험군 12명이 참여했다.
어르신들은 예술치료사의 세심한 지도 아래 자연 소재인 흙을 직접 만지고 빚으며 창작 활동에 몰입했다.
머그컵, 목걸이, 화분, 생활 소품 등 다양한 도자기가 어르신들의 손끝에서 탄생했다.
양손을 이용한 점토 작업은 뇌 균형 활성화에 도움을 주었고, 완성된 작품을 보며 느끼는 성취감과 자존감 향상 효과도 컸다.
프로그램 마지막 날에는 북구보건소 1층 로비에서 어르신들이 직접 만든 도자기들을 가족과 주민들에게 선보이는 작품전시회가 열렸다.
이영숙 보건소장은 "평소 접하기 어려웠던 도예 활동을 어르신들께 제공할 수 있어 뜻깊다"며 "앞으로도 지역 연계 자원을 적극 활용해 다양한 프로그램을 운영하겠다"고 밝혔다.

The Daegu Buk-gu Dementia Care Center announced on the 21st that it had successfully completed its cognitive enhancement pottery class, "Ceramics Blossom."
The center, in partnership with the Keimyung University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, ran a total of 20 cultural and artistic healing programs from June 16th to August 20th.
Selected for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's "Mind Healing, Like Spring" project, the program involved 12 individuals diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and those at high risk for dementia.
Under the careful guidance of an art therapist, the seniors immersed themselves in creative activities, directly touching and shaping the natural material of clay.
The seniors created a variety of ceramic items, including mugs, necklaces, flower pots, and household items.
Working with clay using both hands helped to improve brain balance, and the sense of accomplishment and self-esteem gained from seeing the finished piece significantly improved.
On the final day of the program, an exhibition of pottery handmade by seniors was held in the lobby on the first floor of the Buk-gu Public Health Center, showcasing their work to their families and residents.
Director Lee Young-sook of the Public Health Center stated, "It is meaningful to be able to offer seniors this ceramics activity, which is usually difficult to access," and added, "We will continue to actively utilize local resources to operate diverse programs."
