더불어민주당 세종시당 수석대변인에 박범종 현 대변인을 임명됐다.
세종시당은 21일 "향후 굵직굵직한 지방선거 준비 일정을 앞두고 공정성과 객관성, 투명성 강화를 위해 당직과 공직을 분리해야 할 필요성이 커졌고 ‘현역 선출직의 임명직 당직 겸임 최소화’라는 기조에 따라 이같이 인선했다"고 빍혔다.
전임 수석대변인인 김현미 시의원은 세종시의회 의원과 세종시당 수석 대변인 직을 동시에 수행해왔다.
신임 박범종 수석대변인은 건국대 부동산 대학원 졸업 후 감정평가사로 일하면서 부동산 분야의 전문성을 갖춘 인물로 알려져 있다. 정책 현안에 대한 이해와 실무 경험을 함께 갖췄다는 것이 주변의 평이다.
2024년 9월부터 세종시당 대변인으로 활동하며 언론 대응과 논평 조율을 맡아왔고, 중앙당 정책위부의장과 세종시당 청년위원장을 역임하며 당내 정책 기획과 청년 정치 활성화에도 앞장서 왔다.
신임 박범종 수석대변인은 “지방선거가 채 1년도 남지 않은 중요한 시기에 무거운 책임감을 느낀다”며 “대변인은 당의 얼굴이자 당원의 목소리를 내는 만큼, 세심한 운영과 전략적인 메시지 관리로 세종시민에 더 가까이 다가가는 소통 창구가 되겠다”고 말했다.
