풍운(風雲)의 정치 그만하자. 그거 다 거짓말이다. 대한민국에 정치병자들이 넘쳐나고 온갖 위선과 협잡이 ‘내로남불’ 형태로 비정상적 변이를 일으키는 이유가 바로 풍운의 정치다. 풍운의 정치는 카리스마가 가장 기본적인 정치 자산이자 가장 실효적인 정치 수단이다. 그런데 그 카리스마는 ‘칼있으마’다. 풍운의 정치가 뭔가? 물고기 뱃속에 칼을 감춘 어장검, 그 어장감을 휘두르는 자객 정치다.
눈물 없이 볼 수 없는 삼류 통속 드라마도 아니고 차마 두눈 뜨고 볼 수 없는 비정함과 잔혹함, 권력을 향해 질주하는 ‘F1’식 몰입도 최강 권력 투쟁, 음모와 배신의 연속이다. 옛날 한명회 정치 같은 것이다. 보스정치 계파정치다. 더 사실적으로 말하면 건달 양아치 정치다. 그런 건 시스템이 아니다. 거대한 수직서열 종적구조다. 오야지 밑에 꼬붕 그 꼬붕 밑에 또 꼬붕. 그렇게 만들어진 거대한 피라미드.

그 피라미드 서열 속에서 남보다 더 빨리 올라가기 위해 필요조건은 줄과 끈, 충분조건은 간교한 처세술이다. 출세의 정석이기도 하다. 그게 바로 대한민국을 포함한 동양사회의 풍운의 정치 본색인 것이다. 동북아시아 동남아시아를 둘러보라. 제대로 된 민주주의 사회가 있나? 심지언 일본도 거의 자민당 일당 체제다. 북한 중국 모두 독재 상태다. 지금 대한민국도 일당체제로 수렴해가는 분위기다. 그게 모두 시스템 없이 줄과 끈으로 얽히고 섥혀 풍운의 정치를 구현해왔기 때문이다.
특정 계파 중심이 되어 당을 대상으로 한 권력 투쟁에 승리하고, 그 당이 중심이 되어 나라 전체를 대상으로 한 권력 투쟁에서 승리하고, 충성심과 그 피라미드를 유지하기 위해 완장들을 전리품으로 뿌리는 격이다. 그 단맛을 한번 보고 나면 모두가 미친다. 권력을 잡은 이들은 권력을 놓기 싫어 미치고 권력을 뺏기 이들은 권력을 되찾기 위해 미친다. 더 큰 권력을 위해 대동단결로 이끌어진다. 그게 풍운의 정치인 것이다.
그건 서사가 될 수 없다. 그 사회를 앞으로 나아가지 못하게 하고 끊임없이 나선형으로 돌게 하는 망국적인 정치 행태에 불과하다. 한국이 괜히 ‘나선형 사회’가 아니다. 최근들어 전한길이 ‘배신자’를 외치며 김근식 후보의 연설을 방해한 것도 풍운 정치의 한 측면이다. 아무리 그 후보가 싫어도 그런 행태는 민주적이지 못하다.
카리스마. 그런 거 다 거짓말이다. 지금 왕정시대인가? 민주주의 시대다. 권력자를 뽑아놓고 그 권력자를 추종하는 시대가 아니다. 국민들이 대표를 뽑아 진정으로 국민들을 위해 일할 수 있는 정당과 정부를 만들어야 한다. 국민의힘은 지금이 환‘꼴’탈태 할 수있는 기회일 수도 있다. 과감하게 패거리 주의를 청산하는 것이다.
그 시각에서 계파색이 옅은 안철수가 적임자로 보인다. 풍운의 정치는 질 낮은 패거리 정치다. 이제 패거리 정치 그만하자. 한국 정치의 몰상식과 몰염치, 후안무치와 ‘내로남불’은 좌우 진보 보수 문제가 아니다. 패거리 정치가 만들어낸 최악의 유인체계인 것이다. 그런 측면에서 정치와 경제는 매우 밀접하다고 볼 수 있다. 윗물이 맑아야 아랫물이 맑듯이 정당과 정치인들이 솔선수범하고 공익을 우선시, 공적 마인드로 무장하고 있을 때 올바른 유인체계가 그 사회 전반에 자리를 잡게 된다. 그게 고신뢰 사회다.

사람들은 안철수를 조롱한다. 카리스마가 없다는 게 이유라고 한다. 한국 정치는 그 카리스마가 망쳐놨다. 카리스마가 아니라 ‘칼있으마’다. 그동안 한국 정치는 안철수를 잘도 이용해먹었다. 저속한 풍운의 정치다. 이젠 풍운의 정치를 걷어치우고 시스템 정치를 구현하기 위해 패거리 정치 행태를 청산해야 한다.

The reason South Korea is overflowing with politically ill people and the abnormal mutation of hypocrisy and collusion, manifesting in the form of "self-serving behavior," is precisely the politics of turbulence. In turbulence politics, charisma is the most fundamental political asset and the most effective political tool. But that charisma is "I have a sword." What is turbulence politics? It's like a sword hidden in a fish's belly, like assassin politics wielding that very sword.
It's not a third-rate, melodramatic drama that you can't watch without crying. It's a brutality and cruelty that's unbearable to watch, an F1-style immersion in the pursuit of power. It's a series of intense power struggles, conspiracies, and betrayals. It's like the politics of Han Myeong-hoe in the old days. It's boss politics, factional politics. More realistically, it's gangster politics. That's not a system. It's a gigantic vertical hierarchy. A younger brother under the older brother, and a younger brother under that younger brother. That's how a gigantic pyramid is created.
To climb faster than others in this pyramid, the necessary conditions are ropes and strings, and the sufficient condition is cunning and skillful social maneuvering. It's also the epitome of success. This is the true nature of the turbulent politics of East Asian societies, including South Korea. Look around Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. Are there any truly democratic societies? Even Japan, with its Liberal Democratic Party, is practically a one-party system. North Korea and China are both dictatorships. South Korea is also currently converging on a one-party system. This is because all of this has been achieved through a systemless, entangled web of strings and strings, embodying a turbulent politics.
A particular faction wins a power struggle targeting the party, and that party wins a power struggle targeting the entire nation. Charisma. That's all a lie. Are we living in a monarchy? This is a democracy. This isn't an era where we elect those in power and then follow them. The people must elect their representatives and create a political party and government that truly works for the people. The People Power Party may have an opportunity to completely transform itself. It must boldly shed its clique mentality.
From that perspective, Ahn Cheol-soo, with his lack of factionalism, seems the right candidate. The politics of turmoil are low-quality, gang politics. Let's put an end to gang politics. The common sense, shamelessness, brazenness, and self-serving ideology of Korean politics aren't problems of the left, right, or the right. They're the worst incentive system created by gang politics. In that sense, politics and the economy are closely intertwined. Just as the waters below are pure only when the waters above are pure, when political parties and politicians lead by example, prioritize the public interest, and are armed with a public-spirited mindset, a proper incentive system will take root throughout society. That's a high-trust society.
People ridicule Ahn Cheol-soo, arguing that it's because he lacks charisma. That charisma has ruined Korean politics. It's not charisma, it's "having a sword." Korean politics has effectively exploited Ahn Cheol-soo for so long. This is vulgar, gang politics. It's time to get rid of the politics of turmoil and implement systemic politics, eradicating gang politics.
Korean conservatives and the People Power Party owe a debt of gratitude to Ahn Cheol-soo. Even objectively, it's difficult to find someone with the same level of ability and experience as Ahn Cheol-soo.
