2025년 상반기 당진시가 전국 시 단위 중 최고 고용률을 기록하며 주목받고 있다.
통계청이 최근 발표한 지역별 고용조사 결과에 따르면, 당진시는 상반기 고용률 72.2%를 달성하여 전국 77개 시 중 1위에 올랐다.
전년 같은 기간보다 1.3%p 높은 수치로, 2013년 통계 집계 이래 역대 최대치다. 전국 시 평균 고용률(62.6%)과 비교해도 9.6%p나 높은 기록이다.

특히 당진시는 청년타운나래, 중장년창업센터 등 연령별 맞춤 고용지원 시설을 운영하고, 지역인재 우선채용과 공공일자리, 자격증 및 직업교육 지원 등 다양한 일자리 시책을 지속적으로 확대해왔다.
