【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구성지초등학교(교장 이영숙) 탁구부가 ‘2025 교육감배 학교스포츠클럽대회’ 초등부 탁구 종목에서 우승하며 2년 연속 정상에 올랐다고 5일 밝혔다.
지난 8월 31일 열린 이번 대회에는 7개 학교가 참가했다.
성지초는 조별 리그에서 동인초와 대서초를 차례로 꺾고 조 1위로 결승에 진출했다. 결승전에서는 서동초를 상대로 3대 1 승리를 거두며 최종 우승을 확정했다.
성지초 탁구부는 6학년 2명, 5학년 2명, 4학년 3명 등 총 7명으로 구성됐다. 선수들은 뛰어난 기량과 끈끈한 팀워크를 발휘해 치열한 경쟁 속에서도 끝까지 집중력을 유지하며 값진 성과를 거뒀다.
6학년 이은우 학생은 “오전과 오후 시간을 활용해 꾸준히 연습한 노력이 큰 결실을 맺게 되어 기쁘다”며 “팀원들과 선생님들의 응원 덕분에 좋은 성적을 낼 수 있었다”고 소감을 전했다.
이영숙 교장은 “평범하지만 성실하게 노력하는 학생들이 서로 격려하며 자발적으로 훈련하는 모습에 큰 감동을 받았다”며 “앞으로도 학생들이 잠재력을 마음껏 발휘할 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

Eunwoo Lee, a sixth-grade student, said, "I'm delighted that the consistent practice I put in during the morning and afternoon has borne fruit. Thanks to the support of my teammates and teachers, I was able to achieve such great results."
Principal Youngsook Lee said, "I was deeply moved by the way these ordinary, yet diligent, students encouraged each other and trained voluntarily. I will continue to provide unwavering support so that our students can fully realize their potential."
