브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자가 4일 독일 베를린에서 열린 IFA 2025에서 프리미엄 태블릿 ‘갤럭시 탭 S11 울트라’와 ‘갤럭시 탭 S11’을 공개했다. 이번 제품은 대화면에 최적화된 인공지능(AI) 경험과 업그레이드된 삼성 덱스(Samsung DeX), 경량화된 디자인, 새로워진 S펜을 핵심 변화로 내세웠다. 또한 불필요한 모델을 줄이고 휴대성과 사용성을 높였다는 점에서 긍정적인 평가가 예상된다.
AI 기능으로 강화된 생산성과 창작 경험
갤럭시 탭 S11 시리즈는 멀티모달 AI와 One UI 8 기반의 최신 갤럭시 AI를 지원한다. 대표적인 기능으로는 화면과 카메라를 공유하면서 차트를 요약하거나 노트를 저장해주는 ‘제미나이 라이브(Gemini Live)’, 스케치를 고품질 이미지로 변환하거나 글의 어투와 문체를 목적에 맞게 수정해주는 ‘그리기 어시스트’와 ‘글쓰기 어시스트’, 그리고 스크롤이나 페이지 이동 중에도 번역 결과를 유지하는 실시간 번역 기능이 있다. 삼성전자는 이러한 기능이 사용자의 생산성과 창의적 작업을 한층 강화할 것이라고 설명했다.
삼성 덱스 역시 진화했다. 새롭게 추가된 ‘확장 모드’를 통해 태블릿 화면을 외부 모니터로 확장할 수 있으며, 최대 네 개의 가상 작업 공간을 만들어 업무, 학습, 창작 환경을 구분해 사용할 수 있다.
제품 라인업은 단순화됐다. 전작에서 제공되던 플러스 모델이 빠지고, 기본형과 울트라 모델만 출시된다. 울트라 모델은 전면 카메라 수가 두 개에서 한 개로 줄어 화면 몰입감이 높아졌다.
디자인은 한층 얇고 가벼워졌다. 갤럭시 탭 S11 울트라의 두께는 5.1밀리미터로 역대 가장 얇은 수준을 구현했으며, 무게도 전작 대비 30그램 이상 줄었다. 디스플레이는 다이나믹 AMOLED 2X 패널을 채택했으며, 최대 1,600니트의 밝기를 제공해 야외에서도 선명한 화면을 유지한다.
가장 큰 변화는 S펜이다. 충전 모듈이 제거되면서 무게가 가벼워졌지만 에어 액션 기능은 사라졌다. 자석 부착 방식은 상단 한 곳만 지원하게 됐고, 펜의 형태는 육각형 연필 디자인으로 바뀌어 필기와 드로잉 경험이 향상됐다. 펜촉은 새로운 재질로 변경돼 보다 자연스러운 필기를 지원하며, 손으로 간편하게 교체할 수 있도록 개선됐다. 이에 대해 사용자들은 경량화와 그립감 개선을 긍정적으로 평가하면서도 에어 액션 기능이 빠진 점은 아쉽다는 반응을 보이고 있다.
성능도 업그레이드됐다. 갤럭시 탭 시리즈 최초로 3나노미터 공정으로 제작된 프로세서가 적용됐으며, 전작 대비 CPU 성능은 24%, GPU 성능은 27%, NPU 성능은 33% 향상됐다. 이로써 AI 연산과 멀티태스킹 환경에서 속도와 효율성이 크게 개선됐다.
한편, 국내 출시는 9월 19일로 예정돼 있으며, 색상은 그레이와 실버 두 가지로 제공된다. 가격은 갤럭시 탭 S11 울트라가 159만 8,300원부터 240만 6,800원까지이며, 갤럭시 탭 S11은 99만 8,800원부터 147만 7,300원까지다. 일부 고용량 모델은 삼성닷컴에서만 판매된다. 삼성전자는 오는 8일 하루 동안 AI 체험단을 모집할 예정이며, 신청은 삼성닷컴과 네이버, 쿠팡 등 주요 온라인 채널에서 가능하다.

A Thinner Design, Enhanced Performance, and a Redesigned S Pen Are Key Changes
Samsung Electronics unveiled its premium tablets, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S11, at IFA 2025 in Berlin, Germany, on the 4th. Key changes to these new tablets include an AI experience optimized for large screens, an upgraded Samsung DeX, a lighter design, and a redesigned S Pen. Furthermore, the reduction of unnecessary components and increased portability and usability are expected to garner positive reviews.
Enhanced Productivity and Creative Experiences with AI Features
The Galaxy Tab S11 series supports the latest Galaxy AI, based on multimodal AI and One UI 8. Key features include "Gemini Live," which allows users to summarize charts or save notes while sharing their screen and camera; "Drawing Assist" and "Writing Assist," which convert sketches into high-quality images or tailor text to their intended purpose; and a real-time translation feature that maintains translation results even while scrolling or moving between pages. Samsung Electronics stated that these features will significantly enhance user productivity and creativity.
Samsung DeX has also evolved. The newly added "Extended Mode" allows users to extend the tablet screen to an external monitor, creating up to four virtual workspaces to differentiate work, study, and creative environments.
The product lineup has been simplified. The Plus model from the previous model has been dropped, with only the basic and Ultra models available. The Ultra model features a single front-facing camera, reducing the number of front-facing cameras from two to enhance the screen's immersion.
The design has been significantly thinner and lighter. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the thinnest tablet ever at 5.1 millimeters, and weighs over 30 grams less than its predecessor. The display features a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel and offers a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits, ensuring a clear display even outdoors.
The most significant change is the S Pen. While the removal of the charging module has reduced its weight, the Air Action feature has been removed. The magnetic attachment point is now limited to the top, and the pen's shape has been redesigned to a hexagonal pencil shape for an improved writing and drawing experience. The pen tip has been redesigned with a new material for a more natural writing experience and has been made easier to replace. Users have responded positively to the weight reduction and improved grip, but expressed disappointment with the lack of Air Action functionality.
Performance has also been upgraded. For the first time in the Galaxy Tab series, a processor manufactured using a 3nm process has been used, resulting in a 24% increase in CPU performance, a 27% increase in GPU performance, and a 33% increase in NPU performance compared to the previous model. This significantly improves speed and efficiency in AI computing and multitasking environments.
Meanwhile, the domestic launch is scheduled for September 19th, and it will be available in two colors: gray and silver. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is priced from 1,598,300 won to 2,406,800 won, while the Galaxy Tab S11 ranges from 998,800 won to 1,477,300 won. Some high-capacity models will be available exclusively on Samsung.com. Samsung Electronics will be recruiting AI experience participants on the 8th, and applications can be submitted through major online channels such as Samsung.com, Naver, and Coupang.
