경기도 ‘천권으로 독서포인트’ 정책 가입자 10만 명 돌파

경기도가 지난 7월 1일부터 시행한 독서 활동에 대한 보상으로 지역화폐를 지급하는 ‘천권으로 독서포인트’ 정책이 두 달 만에 10만 명이 가입하는 등 도민의 뜨거운 호응을 얻고 있다.

경기도와 경기도평생교육진흥원은 평생 독서 프로젝트 ‘천권으로’ 중 하나로 전국 지자체 최초 ‘독서 포인트 제도’를 도입해 △도서 구매, △도서 대출, △독서 일지 작성, △리뷰 공유 등 독서 활동에 포인트를 지급하고 있다. 적립된 포인트는 매월 25일 지역화폐로 전환되며, 지역 서점에서 도서 구매 시 사용할 수 있다. 올해 하반기 적립 가능 포인트는 1인당 최대 3만 원이다.

‘천권으로 독서포인트’는 주민등록상 주소지가 경기도인 만 14세 이상 도민이라면 누구나 참여할 수 있다. 적립된 포인트는 매년 12월 7일까지 사용할 수 있다. 유효기간 내 미사용 시 포인트는 다음 해로 이월되지 않고 소멸된다.

‘천권으로 독서포인트’ 정책은 공식 누리집(library.kr/bookpoint) 서비스 개시 첫 주에 4만3,000 명이 가입했다. 9월 1일 기준 10만 명의 회원이 21일 독서 출석 체크 챌린지, 독서 온라인 강의 수강 등 다양한 활동에 참여하고 있다.

오후석 경기도평생교육진흥원장은 “책 읽는 즐거움이 개인의 성장은 물론, 가족과 이웃, 지역 공동체에까지 긍정적인 변화를 주고 있다”며 “책을 읽는 만큼 포인트가 적립되고, 다시 지역 서점 소비로 이어지는 독서 선순환 확산에 많은 도민이 동참해 주시길 바란다”고 말했다.

Gyeonggi Province's "Thousand Books Reading Points" policy, which rewards reading activities with local currency, has been garnering enthusiastic support from residents, surpassing 100,000 sign-ups in just two months.

Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Lifelong Education Promotion Institute, part of the "Thousand Books Reading" lifelong reading project, are the first local government in Korea to introduce a "Reading Points System." Points are awarded for reading activities such as book purchases, book loans, reading logs, and review sharing. Accumulated points are converted into local currency on the 25th of each month and can be used to purchase books at local bookstores. The maximum points that can be accumulated in the second half of this year is 30,000 won per person.
