브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 수협중앙회(회장 노동진)가 최근 남해안 일대에서 발생한 적조로 수산물 피해를 입은 양식 어가에 대한 전방위 지원에 나섰다.
노동진 회장은 9일 경남 통영에서 관내 수협 조합장들과 긴급 간담회를 열고, 적조 피해 대응 및 후속 대책을 논의했다.
노동진 회장은 이 자리에서 “양식어가 피해를 최소화하고 조속한 경영 재기를 위해 가용 자원을 총동원해 복구에 전력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
노 회장은 이날 경남 하동군과 남해군 일대 피해 양식장을 연이어 방문해 어업인으로부터 피해 상황을 청취하고, 1천만 원 상당의 생필품을 하동군수협과 남해군수협에 전달했다.
수협중앙회는 양식보험금 지급 절차에도 속도를 낸다. 사고 현장에 대응반과 손해사정업체를 투입해 폐사 수량을 조속히 집계하고, 지자체 피해 조사 결과가 나오면 지급 심사에 바로 착수한다. 보험금 결정 전이라도 추정보험금 50%를 선지급하고, 피해 어가당 100만 원의 재난 지원금도 지급할 예정이다.
9월 8일 기준 경남 지역 양식보험 적조 사고는 전체 가입 826건 중 51건이며, 추정 손해액은 49억 원으로 집계됐다. 피해 품목은 숭어, 참돔, 조피볼락, 농어, 감성돔, 능성어, 넙치 등 7종으로, 신고 건수는 숭어가 29건으로 가장 많았지만 피해액은 참돔이 35억 원으로 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다.
이번 조치로 수협은 적조 피해 어가의 경영 안정과 조속한 회복을 지원한다는 방침이다.
