경기도의회 이채명 의원(더불어민주당, 안양6)이 지난 9월 10일 경기도의회 안양상담소에서 대한적십자사 안양시협의회 임원진과 함께 협의회 활성화를 위한 정담회를 개최했다.
이 자리에는 대한적십자사 안양시협의회 이점숙 회장, 어금명자 안양봉사회장, 이유재 총무가 참석해 협의회 운영 현황과 향후 발전 방향을 논의했다.
이점숙 회장은 “협의회 활성화를 위해서는 무엇보다 봉사 인원 확충이 시급하다”며 “행정복지센터나 공동주택을 통한 회원 모집 홍보에 협조해 달라”고 요청했다. 그는 또 반찬 나눔, 헌혈, 김장, 복지관 배식 봉사, 노래교실 운영 등 협의회의 다양한 활동을 소개하며 지역사회 공헌 방안을 공유했다.
이에 대해 이채명 의원은 “적십자사가 지역 곳곳에서 중요한 역할을 하고 있음에도 불구하고 활동을 알릴 제도적·행정적 지원이 부족한 것이 현실”이라며 “도의 차원에서 지원책을 모색하겠다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “봉사자 확충을 위해서는 체계적인 홍보와 교육이 병행돼야 한다”며, “도의회에서도 봉사의 가치를 높이고 지역사회와 함께 성장할 수 있는 방안을 적극 검토하겠다”고 강조했다.
