KT&G복지재단이 지난 16일 군포시가야종합사회복지관에서 ‘2025 사회복지기관 차량 전달식’을 갖고 전국 사회복지기관에 경차 150대를 지원했다고 밝혔다.
KT&G에 따르면 복지재단은 전국 복지기관들의 원활한 현장 업무를 위해 2004년부터 기동성이 뛰어난 경차를 지원해 왔다.
올해는 전국적인 복지 수요자 증가로 인한 업무차량 부족 문제를 해소하기 위해 지난해보다 45대 더 많은 차량을 전달하며 지원을 강화했다.
또, 전기차 충전시설을 갖춘 복지관의 신청을 받아 전기차 50대를 제공해 친환경 차량 보급을 확대하고, 환경보호와 에너지 절감 실현에도 앞장서고 있다.
KT&G복지재단이 복지관에 지원한 누적 차량 대수는 총 2,455대에 이른다. 제공된 차량은 일반 차량의 접근이 어려운 좁은 골목길 등 주거 밀집 지역 주민들이 복지 서비스를 차질 없이 받을 수 있도록 활용될 예정이다.
KT&G복지재단 관계자는 “복지 현장에서 필요한 이동 수단을 안정적으로 지원해 지역사회의 복지 활동에 기여고자 노력하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 지원의 손길이 필요한 이웃들이 소외되지 않고 실질적인 혜택과 도움을 받을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
