경기도교육청(교육감 임태희)이 지난 9월 16일 2025학년도 후기 교사 석사학위 과정 지원 대상자 100명을 발표했다.
이번 석사학위 과정 지원 대상자는 교육대학원 석사과정 입학 예정자로 경기도내 공립 유·초·중·고·특수학교에 재직 중인 교육경력 5년 이상의 교사들 중 △교육과정, △경기미래교육, △전공 심화, △현장 문제 해결 등의 부문에서 선발됐다.
임태희 경기도교육감 공약에 따라 교사 석사학위 과정 지원 사업은 교사의 자율적 연구 풍토 조성과 미래교육 전문성 강화를 위해 추진되고 있다.
선발된 교원은 학기당 등록금의 50%(최대 150만 원, 입학금 제외)를 최대 6학기까지 지원받는다. 단 학위 취득 후 지원받은 학기 기간만큼의 의무 복무가 필요하다. 또한 매 학기 연구 결과 공유와 학위 취득 후 학교 현장의 정책실행을 지원해야 한다.
지금까지 석사학위 과정 지원을 받은 교사 수는 2025년 전반기 100명, 2023년과 2024년 선발 인원을 포함해 모두 541명이다.
경기도교육청은 이번 사업을 통해 교사의 학문적 성장을 지원하고 연구 성과를 학교 현장에 확산해 경기미래교육 실행 기반을 마련할 계획이다. 아울러 교사 전문성이 학교 교육과 정책으로 이어지도록 지원을 강화해 성과 확산의 선순환 체계를 확대할 방침이다.

Promoted to Foster a Culture of Autonomous Research and Strengthen Expertise in Future Education
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) announced on September 16th the list of 100 applicants for the second half of the 2025 school year for the Master's Degree Program for Teachers.
Applicants for this program are expected to enroll in a master's program at the Graduate School of Education. They are currently teaching at public kindergartens, elementary, middle, high schools, and special schools in Gyeonggi Province with at least five years of teaching experience. They were selected based on their expertise in curriculum, Gyeonggi Future Education, specialized areas of study, and field problem solving.
In line with Superintendent Lim Tae-hee's campaign pledge, the Master's Degree Program for Teachers is being implemented to foster a culture of autonomous research and strengthen expertise in future education.
Selected teachers will receive 50% of their tuition per semester (up to 1.5 million won, excluding admission fees) for up to six semesters. However, after receiving the degree, mandatory military service is required for the number of semesters supported. Furthermore, they must share research results each semester and support policy implementation at schools after graduation.
To date, a total of 541 teachers have received support for the master's degree program, including 100 in the first half of 2025 and those selected in 2023 and 2024.
Through this project, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education plans to support teachers' academic growth and disseminate research findings to schools, laying the foundation for implementing Gyeonggi Future Education. Furthermore, the program will strengthen support to ensure that teachers' expertise translates into school education and policies, thereby expanding the virtuous cycle of disseminating results.
