【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 중구(구청장 류규하)는 지난 1일 봉산동 명륜로 127-12 일원에서 새롭게 지어진 봉산동 경로당 개소식을 개최했다.
행사에는 류규하 중구청장과 김기웅 국회의원(중·남구), 시·구의원 등 50여 명이 함께 참여해 개소를 축하하며 어르신들과 기쁨을 나눴다.
기존 경로당은 1949년 건축돼 오랜 세월을 버텨왔지만 옥상 일부가 붕괴되는 등 안전 문제가 있었고, 협소한 공간 탓에 어르신들이 불편을 겪어왔다.
새로 지어진 경로당은 총사업비 9억 2,200만 원을 들여 연면적 159.41㎡, 지상 2층 규모로 건립됐다.
거실과 방 2개, 주방, 화장실 2개, 다용도실을 갖추고 있으며, 승강기도 설치해 어르신 누구나 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 배려했다.
류규하 중구청장은 “새 경로당이 어르신들의 든든한 쉼터이자 따뜻한 소통 공간이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 어르신들이 행복하고 만족스러운 노후를 보내실 수 있도록 세심한 복지 정책과 시설 개선에 힘쓰겠다”고 전했다.
