도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 5일(현지시간) 이스라엘·팔레스타인 무장정파 하마스 간 가자 지구 전쟁 종식 평화 협상 관련해 "잘 진행 중이라 들었고 협상을 시작했으며 며칠 걸릴 것"이라고 밝혔다.
미 'CNN'에 따르면 트럼프 대통령은 이날 미 해군 창설 250주년 기념식 참석 차 워싱톤 DC 백악관을 떠나기 전 취재진과 만나 "하마스·이스라엘은 수년 간 하나의 합의를 위해 싸워왔고, 우리는 거의 즉시 인질들을 되찾게 될 것"이라며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "(하마스에 억류된) 인질들을 거의 즉시 돌려받게 될 것"이라며 "이스라엘·전 아랍·이슬람 세계·전 세계에 훌륭한 거래"라고 했다.
