브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 앞으로는 유심 해킹사태가 발생하더라도 거주지 내에서 바로 유심을 교체할 수 있을 전망이다. 이는 통신3 사가 전국 226개 모든 기초단체에 대리점 설치 계획을 확정했기 때문이다.
더불어민주당 서삼석 의원이 SKT·KT·LGU+ 등 통신 3사로부터 제출받은 공문에 따르면 각 사는 대리점이 없는 지자체에 대해 순차적인 매장 구축 계획을 수립해 시행에 나서기로 했다.
서 의원은 지난 11일 일부 지역에 대리점이 없어 유심 해킹 피해 발생시 인근 도시로 이동해 유심을 교체해야 하는 불편을 지적한 바 있다. 당시 대리점이 없는 지자체는 △KT 3곳 △SKT 5곳 △LGU+ 47곳에 달했다.
통신 3사는 2027년까지 순차적으로 설치를 마무리할 예정이다. KT 는 대리점이 없는 3개 기초단체에 대해 2026년 중 매장을 구축한다 . SKT는 2026년 3월 섬 지역인 신안군에 설치를 시작으로 나머지 4곳은 2027년 상반기까지 완료할 계획이다. LGU+도 올 12월부터 신안군부터 설치를 시작해 2026년 상반기 21곳을 추가 구축하고, 나머지 25곳에 대해서는 2027년까지 해소 방안을 마련하겠다고 전했다.
서 의원은 “이번 통신 3사의 결단을 환영하며, 앞으로도 농어촌 정주 여건 개선을 위해 끝까지 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
