충남 서산시가 교육부의 ‘2024년 교육발전특구 시범지역 사업’ 성과 평가에서 우수한 결과를 거두며 관리지역에서 선도지역으로 승격했다. 이에 따라 시는 추가 사업비 5억 원을 확보하며 지역맞춤형 교육혁신 추진에 새로운 동력을 얻게 됐다.
